On February 5, the team Green Arabia from the NYUAD came to the Swiss Pavilion to showcase their project and interact with the visitors. For the Urban and Rural development theme Week at Expo 2020, the Swiss Pavilion, together with partners, attempted to draw attention to adopting the circular transition within an urban environment and hosted the awarding ceremony of the Swiss – Middle East Circular Economy for Youth Initiative (SMECEYI). This initiative aimed to find students innovators from the region and empower them by showcasing their projects to a global audience at the Expo 2020 Dubai. It was also rolled out to enhance Switzerland’s bilateral relations in the Middle East region across the verticals of education, research, and innovation Six teams defended their respective projects and Team Green Arabia (NYUAD) was present at the exhibition space to interact with the public and tell them about their project.
